The National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India is the leading stock exchange in the country, located in Mumbai. It was established in 1992 and began operations in 1994. NSE is the first exchange in India to provide an electronic trading platform and it is also the first stock exchange to be recognized as a stock exchange under the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956. It offers a wide range of products including equities, derivatives, and debt instruments. NSE is also known for its indices such as the Nifty 50 and the Nifty Next 50, which are widely used to measure the performance of the Indian stock market.
